Grant Writer
Luna Kids Dance seeks grantwriter to work on contract basis 20-30 hours per week. Possibility for salaried position depending on experience and availability. Dance Teacher
Luna Kids Dance seeks experienced dance teacher for 2008-09 academic year. Minimum 4 years experience with ages 3-15 and knowledge of creative dance.
Salaried teaching positions involve teaching in any of the following Luna programs: studio, early childhood, school-based or MPACT (Moving Parents and Children Together) in accordance with Luna Kids Dance philosophy. Full-time and 75% time positions available: approximately 10-12 classes/week plus administrative duties as described below.
Teaching Duties:
-Teaching creative, standards-based dance curricula to children 3-17 years of age
-Teaching parent/child relationship-based dance classes
-Client relations
-Site liaison as assigned
-Record keeping
-Prepare and evaluate lessons
Administrative Duties:
All administrative/operation functions at Luna Kids Dance are performed by dance teaching artists. Depending upon skill/interest of applicant, job will entail one or more of the following:

Project coordinating
-
Program assisting
-
Development/fundraising
-
Public relations
-
All staff represent Luna Kids Dance in the community as requested
Requirements:

Completion of entire LKD workshop series, or intention to do so.

Minimum 4 years experience teaching dance to children

Adherence to LKD philosophy

Ability to work as vibrant team member of learning organization

MA, MFA or BA, BFA with equivalent work, education, life experience relevant to mission and vision of organization

Ability to take personal responsibility for work product and decisions

Good people skills: patience, communication, flexibility, collaboration

Good verbal and writing skills

Able to work some Saturdays and evenings if scheduled
-Access to vehicle

Minimum 2-year commitment
Compensation: Starting salary--$38,000-42,000 based on full-time equivalent—negotiated to percent of time, experience, and position. Benefits include paid collaboration, meeting & staff development; 7 paid holidays; sick leave; PTO; retirement; health care pending introductory period. Some benefits dependent on percentage of work.

MPACT (Moving Parents And Children Together) Internships
MPACT brings parent/child dance classes to families affected by the social welfare system. Dance teaching artists who are bi-lingual/bi-cultural are strongly encouraged to apply.
Requirements for this two-year internship project are:
*desire to work in alternative ways with families within the social welfare system
*2 years teaching/dance teaching experience
*ability to make a 2 year commitment
*availability some Saturdays
*and access to transportation.
Selected interns will receive a stipend and have fees waived for Luna Kids Dance professional development workshops.
