If your child is NEW to LKD, please start here:
- 3-4 year-olds: Parent/Child or Creative Dance Play
- 5-6 year-olds: Creative Dance Improvisation
- 7-12 year-olds: Modern Dance Improvisation
- 13- 17 year-olds: Teen Choreography or Improvisation
Please note that our Creative Dance Play and Parent/Child classes
for 3 and 4 year olds require parent participation. Creative Dance
Play requires that parents be available to participate for at least
the first several classes to help your child adjust to the class
setting and structure, while Parent/Child Classes require parents
to participate in every class. Please see the class descriptions

Luna Kids Dance believes all children can benefit from regular
opportunities to express themselves through movement. Bodies are
designed to be in motion. Moving one's body is an important factor
in building self-esteem, accessing other modes of learning and developing
communication skills. Dance allows children unique ways in which
to understand themselves, others and the world. Luna Kids Dance
Children's Component includes studio classes, school-based
classes, parent/child classes
and Teen Program.
Luna Kids Dance Studio Classes
Our studio program is a creative-based, developmentally focused
series of classes offered in four counties in the San Francisco
Bay Area. LKD offers a comprehensive program, using structured improvisation
and games to explore the fundamentals of dance in a fun and encouraging
atmosphere. Young dancers develop a deep understanding of the creative
process through active participation, guided discovery, and critical
reflection. We currently offer classes for children 3-17 years of
age. (See current schedule.)
The studio program also serves as a laboratory for observation by
teachers and artists who partake in the teacher education component
of LKD.
