• Family Dance Classes
  Dance Class for children 2.9-4 years old and their parents. Classes provide opportunities for play and problem-solving; for discovery and adventure. Meet new families and make new friends!

• Our Parent/Child Dance Classes are offered in our community Open Houses for free, in schools through our School and Community Alliances, in our Early Childhood Education Component, in our MPACT program (Moving Parents and Children Together for families in the child welfare system), and now in our Studio Kids' Program (see our Class Schedule). Parent/Child classes provided by LKD at our Open Houses and by request, give opportunities for parent education and partnership. LKD provides an important service, structuring movement activities which have at their core parent-child interaction and relationship building. Parents learn more about the importance of dance in their own and their children's life; understand better the philosophy of our program and get to enjoy a fun, safe, productive activity as a family.
  
  
• Luna Kids Dance offers Parent/Child classes at our various sites. Our innovative class is designed to give families a shared dance experience that connects body, mind, and soul. Through experiencing the elements of a Creative Dance class, parents will explore how dance relates to the cognitive, kinesthetic, and socio-emotional development of their child. Children will have a chance to play fun dance games, enjoy refreshments, meet the Luna Kids Dance faculty, register for our upcoming session and try a unique Bay Area dance program. Luna Kids Dance offers creative-based dance classes for youth, ages 3-17. Our age appropriate classes focus on body awareness as the means toward self- expression, the dance elements of space, force and time, composition and cooperative learning.
  
  
• We also teach workshops on parent/child classes, and teaching young children.  These classes are titled Dance In Early Childhood and Teaching Parent-Child Classes.  Please click this link for more information about these workshops.

MPACT (Moving Parents And Children Together) Internships

MPACT brings parent/child dance classes to families affected by the social welfare system. Dance teaching artists interested in working with young children and their families in social service settings are encouraged to apply. Requirements for this two-year internship project are:

-Desire to work in alternative ways within the social welfare system
-2 years dance teaching experience
-Ability to make a 2 year commitment
-Available some Saturdays, and access to transportation.

Selected interns will receive a stipend and have fees waived for Luna Kids Dance professional development workshops. Applications accepted until August 31st.  Please contact Veleda Roehl at vroehl@lunakidsdance.org to request an application.
